Police in the French capital, Paris, have shot and injured an attacker near the Notre Dame Cathedral.


Passers-by were advised on Tuesday to stay away from the church after reports emerged of an attack by a hammer-wielding man on police officers. Paris prosecutor's office said it had launched a counter-terrorism investigation.

Witnesses said large numbers of police cars were present at the scene of the alleged attack on the island in the River Seine in the center of Paris.

The third London Bridge attacker has been named as Youssef Zaghba, a Moroccan-Italian man.27 year old Pakistan-born Khuram Butt and 30 year old Rachid Radouane, both from Barking were the other two attackers.

Police in the US state of Florida have said there have been "multiple fatalities" in a shooting in Orlando.The shooting happened early on Monday morning in the east of the city, the Orlando Sentinel newspaper reports.
