Nigerians urged to hold leaders accountable

Written by  May 18, 2017

Executive Director of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development, Centre LSD, Dr. Otive Igbuzor has called on Nigerians to take their role as citizens serious and hold their leaders accountable.

Dr. Igbuzor made this known on Wednesday at the report presentation on Inequality in Nigeria organised by OXFAM.
Oxfam International’s Inequality report revealed that the combined wealth of five richest Nigerians, put at 29.9 billion Dollars, could end extreme poverty in the country.

In response to the report, the Centre LSD Executive Director saod people should stop demanding and collecting money from politicians to sell their votes and letting inferiors rule. He therefore encouraged persons of integrity to come out and participate in politics.

In line with the theme of the programme, "Even it up", Dr. Igbuzor recommended that if inequality has to stop in Nigeria, the citizens have to wake up and fight for what is theirs.
