UK government to strengthen trade relations with Nigeria

The government of the United Kingdom has indicated its interest in strengthening trade relations between the UK and Nigeria.

John Howell, the UK prime minister’s trade envoy to Nigeria disclosed this during an interview with WE FM presenter, Kamri Apollo today 28th February in Abuja.
Howell stressed the need to improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria and expressed optimism over future relations between both countries. The UK minister also met with the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce earlier on Tuesday.
Also speaking was Harriet Thompson, UK Acting High Commissioner and Laure Beaufils, the newly posted UK Deputy High Commissioner. They expressed a desire to see an end to conflict in the country, and advocated on the need for gender parity.
Beaufils who is stationed in Lagos is the second woman to hold this position after Acting High Commissioner Harriet Thompson.
