Mambilla Plateau: Osinbajo orders reinforcement

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has ordered reinforcement of security in the Mambilla Plateau to check the spate of violent attacks in the area.

Osinbajo, while condemning the attacks, also condoled with the victims of the recent violent attacks in a number of communities in Taraba State, which resulted in many deaths.He said that perpetrators of the attack would be brought to book.

Meanwhile, the acting President held an emergency meeting with top security officials of the federal government and Taraba Governor Darius Ishaku.

Osinbajo, further ordered the deployment of an extra military battalion, police reinforcements and also a deployment of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps to the areas affected.

The Federal Government has also put in motion long time solutions including mediation between opposing groups in the communal conflict.
